Cold-pressed shea is rich in triterpene alcohols with documented anti-inflammatory and barrier-restoring activity, and its oleic and stearic acid content mirrors the skin's own lipid composition. It absorbs without leaving a film, which is why Velvet Touch doesn't compromise grip or dexterity.

Ceramides make up roughly 50% of the lipids in the skin's outermost layer — and hand skin loses them faster than almost anywhere else, due to frequent washing. Ceramide NP replenishes that lipid mortar between skin cells directly, so the repair compounds over time instead of producing just temporary softness.

Allantoin accelerates cell turnover in the thickened skin that forms at knuckles, cuticles and the nail bed from repeated washing, helping shed dead, roughened cells. The result is softer skin with a visibly more even texture over consistent use.

Apply immediately after handwashing
Pat hands until slightly damp — not bone dry — then dispense a pea-sized amount and work across the backs of hands, palms, and between fingers.
Massage into knuckles and cuticles
Use your thumb to work the balm into each knuckle and press gently into the cuticle line — fifteen seconds per hand gives the allantoin the contact time it needs.
Use throughout the day — as often as needed
Each application rebuilds the ceramide layer incrementally. The cumulative effect produces lasting softness rather than short-term surface slip.
Apply generously at bedtime for overnight repair
A slightly thicker application before sleep allows ceramide and shea to work without competition. For cracked or very dry skin, apply and wear cotton gloves overnight.
